Georges River Community Baptist Church

River Kids is the children's ministry at Georges River Community Baptist Church.

It offers a fun, action packed ministry for kids from preschool to Year 7. River Kids is held on Sunday mornings between 10am and 11.30am at Lugarno Public School and includes games, craft, singing and interactive learning about God and themselves.

Once a term there is a Kids Day Out to fun places like ice skating, the beach, water slides, Fairfield City farm and other fun places.

What’s Happening at River Kids this term?

RIVER BABES – all our beautiful 1-3 yr olds.
It’s time for some serious fun in River Babes. This term will see some special days held at River Babes. There will be a cubby house day, a balloon day and even a teddy bear day!

SPECIAL MINISTRY DAY: Sunday 1st August our River Babes will be ministering to us thru song and musical instruments in the main church service. Other River Kids Classes will also be getting the opportunity to minister to us during the term.

TADPOLES, FROGS, SEA MONKEYS & HIGH TIDE classes are based around 2 themes this term:
Weeks 1-4 – JESUS IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE – The Holy Spirit is God’s invisible presence and is active in the world today, living in those who follow Jesus. We want to give our kids a taste of the adventurous life that God has for those who follow His Son.

Memory Verse: God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. Ephesians 2:10

Weeks 5-8 – THE GOLDEN RULE – It’s not fair! I’ll get you back. These are phrases children hear and use everyday. But is getting ‘even’ Jesus’ way? We will be teaching our children that God cares about justice but his idea of getting even is very different to that of the world. We want our kids to learn different strategies to revenge.

Memory Verse: Treat others as you want them to treat you. Matthew 7:12

RIVER KIDS COMPASSION CHILD – Worawut See-jun from Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Please help your children to participate in this offering each week by providing a small chore or 2 at home that they can complete in order to receive a small amount of money to go towards our sponsorship. Even 20-50c is excellent if a child learns how to give to others. Please talk to your children about this and encourage them.

KIDS GAMES – Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th October 2010 @ Georges River Life Centre.

BABY NEWS – Our newest River Babe has arrived…Congratulations to Scott, Jodie, Sophie & Charlotte on the birth of their son and brother, Curtis Scott Alexander Morrison born on 5th July. Welcome Curtis!

At River Kids Playgroup we have toys and games, art and craft, music time, stories and lots of fun!! For mums, dads and kids 0-6yrs! $3 per family.

Riverkids Playgroup will be running in Term 2 EVERY Thursday and Friday from 10am-12pm, at 23 Stanley St Peakhurst, between the following dates:

Combined excursion Thurs 24th June (no group Fri 25/6)

For babies and toddlers aged 1 to 3. Faye and her team provide a nurturing environment for your young child for the duration of the morning service.

Preschool and kinder (3-5 yr olds). Nicole, Rod, Janelle and the team offer a fun and creative program to help preschoolers and kindys learn about God. Class time includes games, activities, songs and crafts that run alongside a theme and story from the Bible.
